Natalie A. Suedekum, MD, CAQ
Dr. Suedekum attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine in a combined, accelerated undergraduate and graduate school program. There, she received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Doctor of Medicine and was student delegate to the Missouri Academy of Family Practice. Dr. Suedekum went on to complete three years of specialty training in Family Medicine at Barberton Citizens’ Hospital in Barberton, Ohio where she was Chief Resident and voted outstanding resident.
Following her residency, Dr. Suedekum completed an advanced fellowship in Primary Care Sports Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. While there, she provided training room and game medical coverage for the NFL’s Cleveland Browns, NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers, and AHL’s Cleveland Barons. She also served as faculty preceptor at Fairview Family Medicine and team physician for John Carroll University, Cleveland State University, and Mentor High School. Later, Dr. Suedekum then relocated to South Florida where she served as Regional Medical Director for Solantic Urgent Care in Miami, Florida. Current team physicians for local high school.
Dr. Suedekum is Board certified in Family Medicine and Sports Medicine, and is a member of the American Academy of Family Medicine and American Medical Society of Sports Medicine. She has conducted original research in sports biomechanics and published her work in several peer-reviewed journals. Her articles include “The Impact of Fatigue on Gender Based, High Risk Landing Strategies” in Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise and “Iron and the Athlete” in Current Sports Medicine Reports.
Beyond enjoying the full spectrum of Family Medicine, Dr. Suedekum has special clinical interests in sports medicine including injury prevention, management, and rehabilitation, stress fractures, women’s health, and early childhood development.
Dr. Suedekum enjoys sporting activities whether in the stands or on the field, travel, music, and cooking. She also enjoys spending time with family and friends, and her amazing Labradoodle, Albert.
