Kristen Valderhaug, MD
Dr. Valderhaug attended the University of California, San Diego as a Regents Scholar. There she received a Bachelor of Arts with a degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and completed three years of specialty training in Family Medicine at Scottsdale Healthcare, Osborne.
Prior to entering medical school, Dr. Valderhaug worked at the Center for Neurologic Study in San Diego, California. There she performed clinical research, including clinical trials with patients, investigating possible causes and treatment options for Lou Gehrig’s disease as well as evaluating the pharmacokinetics and metabolism of different medications. Her research was published in a major, peer-reviewed journal.
Upon completing her medical training, Dr. Valderhaug entered private practice in Mesa and Scottsdale, Arizona. She subsequently joined Kronos Optimal Health Centre where she specialized in comprehensive health evaluations encompassing nutritional, vitamin, and hormonal balance and cardiac and pulmonary function.
Dr. Valderhaug is Board certified in Family Medicine and a member of the American Academy of Family Medicine and the Arizona Academy of Family Practice. Beyond enjoying the full-spectrum of Family Medicine, she has a special interest in Integrative Medicine and in helping her patients identify and adopt positive lifestyle changes to improve their overall health in a proactive manner.
Dr. Valderhaug is married, and has two active sons and a feisty dog. She enjoys spending time with her family, volunteering, yoga, and travel.
